20 teachers undergo Generate Your Business Ideas & Start Your Business Training

Twenty (20) teachers and other professionals from various secondary schools and Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions completed the first phase of the Generate Your Business Idea and Start Your Business Virtual Training Programme, which took place in July, 2021. This is the first cohort of trainers based in Saint Lucia to participate in this renowned International Labour Organisation (ILO) training programme.
The training was organized by the Department of Education in collaboration with the ILO through the India-UN Development Partnership Fund, “Upgrading Saint Lucia’s Capacity to Provide Impactful Vocational Training for Marginalized Youth” project. It focused on entrepreneurship and business management. The objective was to prepare participants to train individuals in developing concrete business ideas ready for implementation, assess their readiness to start a business, prepare business plans and evaluate viability of these plans. It is anticipated that participants will implement the training at their various institutions and within their communities. Interested participants will continue on to the next leg of the training, Improve Your Business (IYB).
